The northshore is the home for many of the region’s finest racehorses. But before they can shine on race day, they put in a lot of work in back of the track.
St. Tammany Parish, especially the area around Folsom, is known as horse country Horse farms, where trail riders, hunters and jumpers, polo ponies, draft horses and thoroughbreds flourish, surround the village.
Several factors combine to make the Folsom area so hospitable to horses-especially to the breeding, raising, training and racing of thoroughbreds.
